AdvancedTCA is coming along. There are many backplanes and chassis
designs, including a new 5U ATCA Development Chassis from Bustronic
and Elma that converts 48V DC to A/C for plugging into a conventional
wall outlet. However, hub and node cards are still in the works.
At ATCA Interoperability Workshops, testing has been performed
for the signal integrity over the backplane, e-keying, the fabric
interface, IPMB saturation, etc. The focus is now more on the
intercommunication between various vendors' cards and also on
shelf managers. The goal is to have a full ATCA ecosystem ready
and tested by Bus and Board 2004 (January).
