VPX products have been around since 2005 and Bustronic has been a key leader and innovator in the VITA 46 community. Bustronic and our sister company Elma Electronic have released a wealth of backplane and chassis solutions. Now, we are introducing new and creative VPX designs to complete the ecosystem.
A key part of supporting a new architecture is providing solutions for test and development. Bustronic’s latest VPX products include accessories for such a purpose. The VPX Load Board aids the system designer in assuring adequate chassis cooling and verifying that the VPX chassis is capable of meeting the power requirements of the system (or VITA specs). The board comes in 3U and 6U sizes and will be offered in convection and conduction-cooled formats.
The VPX Extender board allows a VPX circuit card to be extended outside of the chassis area so that it can be easily tested or debugged. With a lack of a right angle receptacle for VPX in the marketplace, Bustronic produced a creative rigid-flex-rigid PCB design to get around the problem.
Here are some more of Bustronic and Elma’s recent VPX innovations:
-
VPX SerDes Test Module – plugging directly into a VPX chassis, the module takes the “vital stats” of a VPX circuit card or full interconnect path across the backplane. It provides the user with a cost-effective and simple way to test the BER, Jitter, Timing, Voltage, Stress, and other analyses as well as generate patterns such as Eye Diagrams.
With the wealth of backplane, chassis, test, and accessory products, Bustronic and Elma have helped expand the VPX ecosystem.
