Upgrades for Engineering, Testing and Manufacturing Backplanes

Bustronic is constantly adding and upgrading equipment to keep up with new technologies and achieve our CQI (Continuous Quality Improvement) goals.

The main schematic capture and PCB layout program Bustronic uses is PCAD. PCAD was developed by Accel and later evolved into Altium. The latest version of PCAD is 2002. See www.acceltech.com. Many of our backplane designers both in the USA and Europe use PCAD as it is well-known and reliable. (-More-)

The VXS backplanes are going through more changes, but should be finalized soon. There is a migration to new "Next-Gen" Multi-Gig RT-2 connectors that have improved signal integrity in the same footprint. In the coming months, we should have a mechanical "Plugfest" for cards and backplanes. Completed VXS backplanes should be announced this quarter.

This cPCI Backplane Line is specifically designed to fit in horizontal Low Profile chassis. The new 2-slot, 4-slot, and 8-slot versions fit into 1U, 2U and 4U Low Profile chassis respectively. PICMG 2.16 versions also available.

New 6U "Classic" VME64x Backplane Line

Bustronic has announced new 6U "Classic" VME64x Backplanes to go along with their standard 7U VME64x line. The 6U style is for applications that demand the restricted size and do not have the higher power requirements that only the 7U can handle.

New VXI Backplane

Bustronic's new 11-slot VXI backplane compliments the existing 5, 6, 8, 9, and 13-slot "C" sizes. Some "D" size VXI backplanes are also available.
