Bustronic
Offers PIB with Dual Power Supply Options
FREMONT, California,
July 1, 2003 - Bustronic Corporation, an industry leading designer
and manufacturer of high performance backplanes, is expanding its
line of Power Interface Boards (PIBs). The new 3U version has capabilities
to support two 47-pin power supplies and has several special features.
Bustronic's
standard backplane lines utilize power taps and power studs, which
are wired to the power supplies. With the PIBs, Bustronic customers
will be able to choose between Bustronic's standard power interface
and pluggable modules. The new 3U version has two connectors for
47-pin hot pluggable power supplies meeting the PICMG 2.11 specification. Also included
are power taps for +5V, 3.3V, and GND and fast-ons for +12V and
-12V.
The PIB interfaces
to the backplane via power bugs with 6/32 screws and includes mounting
holes to be securely fixed to the chassis. Other features include
a header for voltage sense and IPMB (Intelligent Platform Management
Bus) interface, an auxiliary/disk drive connector, and a power switch
header. The sense lines help the power supply better regulate the
power at the load end. The current share lines allow multiple power
supplies to share current, either on one PIB or between multiple
PIBs. The IPMB interface is compliant to system management specification
PICMG 2.9 Rev. 1.0. The Geographical Addressing on the power supply
connector is selectable.
Bustronic also
offers 3U PIBs with one power supply connector and 6U versions will
be available soon. |
