BUSTRONIC
ANNOUNCES LOW PROFILE COMPACTPCI PRODUCT LINE
FREMONT, California,
July 9, 2003 - Bustronic Corporation, an industry leading designer
and manufacturer of high performance backplanes, has announced a
new product line of Low Profile CompactPCI Backplanes. The series
saves a slot-size of width by placing power studs and power blades
throughout key locations on the backplanes.
Bustronic's
standard 6U CompactPCI (cPCI) backplane line offers power bugs on
the side of the backplane for cabling convenience. However, this
adds a slot size of width to the dimensions. In the Low Profile
series, 6/32 threaded power studs are placed between the slots saving
space. This allows the 4-slot Low Profile cPCI to fit within a 2U
horizontal chassis and the 8-slot to fit within a 4U horizontal
chassis, etc.
The Low Profile
cPCI series is available in 2 and 3-slot versions in a 7U height.
The extra 1U of board space allows more room for power bugs, faston
blades, and headers. The 6U height versions are available in 4,
6, and 8-slot sizes. Further, the company also offers all of its
6U Low Profile series in PICMG 2.16-compliant styles as well. |
