BUSTRONIC SYSTEM ACCESSORY FAMILY CONTINUES TO GROW

FREMONT, California, August 16, 2004 - Bustronic Corporation, an industry leading designer and manufacturer of high performance backplanes, continues to expand its line of system accessories. With new test extender boards, power interface boards, and system monitors, Bustronic's has one of the largest selections of accessories in VME, CompactPCI, VXI, AdvancedTCA, and VME64x architectures.

Recently, Bustronic has developed new rear CompactPCI extender boards. The extender boards are designed to bring a circuit card completely out of a card cage or enclosure so that it can be tested or debugged. This provides access to both sides of the test board. Injector/ejector latches with ergonomic handles provide easy insertion and removal of the cards. They also hold the board firmly to the chassis, increasing the reliability of the connections. This is done without the use of set screws, which can be inconvenient. The company now offers extender boards in VME, VME64x, CompactPCI, and VXI form factors.

The company has also recently expanded its family of PIBs -- a separate board for the power section of the backplane used to facilitate pluggable power supplies, headers, and utility connectors. The boards contain one or two 47-pin Positronic hot-pluggable power supply connectors, and power taps for +5V, 3.3V, -12V, +12V, and GND. The PIB interfaces to the backplane via power bugs with 6/32 screws. The power board line now includes versions in both 3U and 6U formats.

Bustronic also now offers system monitoring and management units specifically designed for Mil/Aero, Communications, as well as for general Industrial applications. The Sentry I System Monitor is ideal for a wide range of VME/64x, VXI, CompactPCI or other chassis. It can monitor up to eight voltages (four positive and four negative) and can be easily configured for non-standard voltages. Designed for COTS/Mil programs, the Sentry III Diagnostic Monitor is a microprocessor-based instrument for monitoring and controlling the power supplies, fans, etc, in a chassis. The IPM Sentry advanced shelf manager is a modular unit designed for both AdvancedTCA and CompactPCI systems.
