ELMA BUSTRONIC'S NEW 2-SLOT ADVANCEDTCA BACKPLANE IDEAL FOR PROTOTYPING
FREMONT, California, May 3, 2005 - Elma Bustronic Corporation, an industry leading designer and manufacturer of high performance backplanes has developed a new 2-slot AdvancedTCA (ATCA) backplane. The 2-slot ATCA has a point-to-point mesh topology that does not require the expense of switch cards for prototyping.
The 2-slot ATCA features a 10-layer stripline design with optimized routing through signal integrity studies. Also included are connectors for direct plugging of the IPM Sentry shelf manager from Elma Electronic Inc or wired connections to other shelf managers. The topology is a switchless 15x Replicated Mesh with point-to-point links between the slots. However, a standard Full Mesh can also be implemented on the backplane.
Elma Bustronic’s Signal Integrity (SI) lab has performed simulation and backplane characterization to ensure the highest performance. The company’s unique ATCA probe card makes accurate and sophisticated measurement possible. All Elma Bustronic ATCA backplanes are compliant to the PICMG 3.0 specification.
